We currently have the following vacancy:

 

MIDDAY ASSISTANT – NURSERY
Required as soon as possible
Band 1 Point 1 to 3 (£17842 to £18562 pro-rata)
7.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 11:30am to 1pm, Term Time only
Fixed Term 1 year

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic, confident and caring person to join our friendly team.  The role involves supervising a small group of nursery pupils during lunch-time. 

 

Heyes Lane Primary School is one of the largest three form entry primary schools in Trafford; we believe that the primary school experience plays an integral role in our pupil’s right to a happy, successful and memorable childhood. The duties will include:

  • Supervision in the dining hall of a group of nursery children – promoting positive behaviour and fostering positive relationships.
  • To encourage children to use table manners.
  • To assist and encourage children to eat their packed lunch, as required.
  • To deal with health and safety issues, such as cleaning tables, mopping up spillages, etc.
  • Leaving the dining hall in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Supervision of children in the playground during lunch time.
  • In the case of nursery aged children, assist with toileting requirements as necessary.

 

The successful applicant will:

  • Have experience of working with younger children (infants).
  • Have a friendly but firm manner.
  • A tactful, patient approach when supervising the children.
  • An awareness of the need for confidentiality.
  • An awareness of health and safety factors in the school environment.
  • A willingness to undertake training as appropriate.
